Theatre Classes Offered at Chapman Cultural Center Creativity And Imagination Come To Life At Spartanburg Youth Theatre This Spring
Spartanburg Youth Theatre will offer a wide variety of theatre-related classes for children and youths starting the week of February 16.
Learn stage makeup, reinvent Shakespeare, and go on a treasure hunt around the world with new, one-of-a-kind classes for all ages and all levels. Did your son or daughter leave Into the Woods singing all the songs? Do they always act out the scenes from their favorite movies, or love dressing up as characters? If your child has caught the theatre bug, there’s a class for him or her this spring at Spartanburg Youth Theatre (SYT). Whether they’re trying out their skills for the first time or planning their future careers on Broadway, at SYT they will have the chance to invent, play, and imagine under the instruction of Upstate theatre professionals.
Designed for youth of all skill levels in grades K4-12, the spring class schedule includes 10-week classes in acting, stage makeup and production. The classes meet once a week for 10 weeks beginning the week of February 16. An early sign-up discount on classes applies to registrations received before January 16. To register, call Spartanburg Youth Theatre at (864) 585-8278 or visit SpartanburgYouthTheatre.com.
Spartanburg Youth Theatre is the second oldest youth theatre in South Carolina and is one of the only “by youth, for youth” children’s theatres in the nation. With four main stage shows a season, school time performances for more than 10,000 Upstate school children and educators, and a thriving theatre education program for kids in grades K4-12, Spartanburg Youth Theatre proves that “imagination never gets old!”
